Mahavir Lachit Cup
The Mahavir Lachit Cup is a prestigious football tournament designed to ignite the passion for sports among young athletes. With the collaborative efforts of Khelo India, the Assam Football Association, and ABVP, this state-level event aims to empower students under 20 years old to showcase their talent on a grand stage.
Our goal is to inspire young players, identify grassroots talent, and pave the way for their recognition in the national and international football arena.
Multi-Stage Tournament Format
The competition is organized in three progressive stages: district level, zone level, and finals, ensuring a fair and comprehensive selection process for top talent.
Exciting Prizes for Winners
Winners and runners-up at every stage will receive attractive cash prizes along with certificates of merit to recognize their achievements.

Stages of the Tournament
The Mahavir Lachit Cup will progress through the following stages
District-Level Competitions
- Dates : January 28 - February 5, 2025
- Teams will compete within their respective districts, and the best team from each district will qualify for the zone-level competition.
Zone-Level Competitions
- Dates : February 6 - February 10, 2025
- District-level winners will compete within their assigned zones.
Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Finals
- The top two teams from each zone will qualify for the quarterfinals, with the best teams advancing to the semifinals and the grand finale.
Participation Rules
To ensure fair and competitive gameplay, all participants must adhere to the following guidelines
Eligibility :
- Open to students under 20 years of age.
- Participation is restricted to teams representing educational institutions.
Documentation Required :
- Teams must submit a signed list of players approved by the head of their institution.
- Players must present their institutional ID cards and matriculation admit cards for verification.
